The first to join Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) was Kim JunSu who was 12 at that time; he was brought into the program through a TV show(The 6th Starlight Academy Casting System(KangTa, Moon HeeJun's Showdown of the Century) Kang Ta's Team - Lead Vocal)looking for a new talent. He continued to train for six more years and debuted under the name of Xiah Junsu .The next TVXQ (Dong Bang Shin Ki, DBSK) member to join, Jung YunHo won his audition through a dance competition(1st Annual SM Best Competition - Best Dancing 1st Place). However, he was no amateur--he had been a backup dancer and rapper for K-pop singer Dana. Kim Jaejoong left his hometown to audition for SM Entertainment(2nd Annual SM Best Competition - Best Appearance 1st Place)and debut under the name a fortune teller foretold years before: YoungWoong JaeJoong. Shim ChangMin was one of the youngest to audition; nevertheless, he passed the try-outs(6th Annual SM Best Competition - Best Singing 1st Place & Best Artist of the Competition).He joined the band on the name of ChoiKang ChangMin.Six months prior to the Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK)'s debut, a new member was added. American Park YooChun.He won the 2001 American Singing Competition (Virginia)Best Artist of the Competition | 2003 KBN Teens Singing Competition Special Award.

 

Each of them is just a shorter way to say their names in diffrent language like DBSG/DBSK is korean ( DongBangShingi) TVXQ is their english name and it is also what they call themselves in chinese ( TongVangXinQi) THSK is their name in Japanese (ToHoShinKi).

 

Junsu, Yoochun, Jaejoong and Yunho all have ear piercings. Changmin wore clip-ons during the Always There MV. But just recently, he had both his ears pierced.Jaejoong have/had nipple and belly piercings. It's been speculated that he took off his nipple piercings; but he still has his belly piercing.

 

Micky has 2 or 3 tattoos, 1 on his ankle and 1 on his back. Jaejoong has 1 tattoo on his back. His tattoo says 'TVXQ SOUL' and apparently Micky's 1 on his back says 'TVXQ MATE'?! .
